Overview
The 2004 model Town Car is Lincoln’s full-size luxury sedan with a tradition of a smooth ride and superb comfort. Minor refinements have been made to the Town Car for 2004. Sirius satellite radio is now available as a dealer-installed option on vehicles equipped with the touch-screen navigation system and six-disc in-dash CD changer introduced during the 2003 model year.

For 2004, new interior and exterior color combinations are available. All Lincoln vehicles come with complimentary maintenance at no additional charge for 12 months/12,000 miles.

The Town Car has long been Lincoln’s bedrock – it is the brand’s highest volume model and it boasts extremely high customer satisfaction and loyalty. Town Car is built in Wixom, Mich.

Design and Equipment
The Town Car’s exterior design has a formal appearance with a chromed Lincoln signature grille flanked by quad-beam halogen headlamps. High-intensity-discharge headlamps are optional on Ultimate models.

A stand-up Lincoln star hood ornament sits at the leading edge of the hood on all models.

At the rear of the car, the fascia, taillamps and the chrome license plate surround present a clean, uncluttered appearance.

All Town Car models are fitted with standard 17- by 7-inch euro-flange aluminum wheels. Euro-flange wheels have a distinctively clean appearance, because the wheel-balancing weights are mounted out of sight on the inside rim. Fourteen-spoke machined aluminum wheels are standard, with optional nine-spoke chrome-finished wheels available on Ultimate models.

Two extended-wheelbase models continue for 2004, the Executive L (fleet only) and Ultimate L. In addition to their 6-inch stretch in wheelbase, L models offer rear-seat amenities including a folding armrest with tissue and storage bins as well as dual power points and redundant audio, climate and right front passenger seat controls. The Ultimate L model includes heated rear seats.

Light French Silk, Light Tundra and Cashmere Tri-Coat are new colors added for 2004. A Shale/Dove interior color scheme replaces the Espresso/Medium Light Stone combination offered last year.

Powertrain
A 239-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 is standard on Town Car. The engine is mated to an improved four-speed automatic transmission for 2004. The transmission has received updates that give it increased torque capacity.

Town Car puts power to the ground through its rear wheels via a 3.27:1 final drive ratio. All-speed traction control is standard and helps improve traction during inclement weather.

Safety
The 2004 Town Car is equipped with Ford Motor Company’s Personal Safety System™ , which is one of the most comprehensive driver and front-seat passenger restraint systems available. It includes dual-stage air bags and safety belts with retractor pretensioners and energy management retractors.

Town Car continues to feature BeltMinder™, which chimes to remind the driver to buckle up.

Ultimate adds to Signature: Soundmark audiophile dual-media sound system, leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood inserts, full power trunk with key fob open and close, memory driver’s seat, pedals and mirrors and front heated seats.

Options include: 9-spoke chrome wheels, high-intensity-discharge headlamps, six-disc in-dash CD changer, navigation system with six-disc CD changer, power moonroof, white sidewall tires, trunk organizer and Sirius satellite radio (dealer installed).
